Maytas Infra successfully commissions the Ring Road project for Bangalore Development Authority

Hyderabad, April 6, 2009: IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited achieved another significant milestone by completing the construction of six lane outer ring road for Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). The project is in the process of being handed over to the client.

The project involves construction of six lane outer ring road with two lane service road on both sides connecting Mysore road and Magadi road in Bangalore for 4.82 kms. The Rs. 66.62 crores project was awarded to IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited in Dec 2005. This road saves about 13 Kms of extra journey for the commuters to reach Mysore, and also enhances smooth flow of traffic in the peripheral areas.

The scope of work included construction of 6 lane dual carriageway with 2 lane service roads on both sides, four vehicular underpass, one minor bridge, widening of existing culverts, reinforced cement concrete and reinforced earth retaining walls, junction improvement, R.C.C drains, traffic signs, road markings, pavement structure and marking, painting, and so on. It also comprised earthwork, temporary earth retaining structures, electrical works related to illumination above and below the underpass, main carriageway and service roads, landscaping works and construction of footpaths, medians, islands, kerbs, storm water drains, drain cover slabs as well.
